The MEC Library Archives & Special Collections department (ASPC) houses a wide range of books and non-published materials documenting and commemorating the Black achievement. To provide a broader access to and to promote the ASPC holdings, the archivist has been creating displays and exhibitions, both traditional and virtual. Some of them are designed to serve as permanent educational and inspirational resources, others were created to honor a remarkable person or mark a milestone event. The exhibitions, which exist online, provide continuous availability: users can download texts and images from the websites, follow the hyperlinks to enlarge the scope of research and explore the historical context. The displays that were mounted on a board or arranged in a glass case, however, cease to exist when taken apart. This site presents the digital surrogates of all the elements comprising the original installations. For many of them, enhanced versions were created; they can be printed out as large-format posters.
